A phone that someone always answers
A phone assistant that answers, resolves questions, takes bookings and puts the call through to a person when needed. It replies in just over a second.
It's the line that answers anyone calling me about work. Ask it anything: it's the best way to hear how it would sound in your business. (It speaks Spanish.)
The problem
A freelancer or small business can't pick up the phone while working. Every missed call is a customer dialling the next number on the list, and hardly anyone leaves a voicemail.
What got built
A Valencia phone line answered by a voice assistant. It speaks naturally, explains the services, answers questions and, when a person is needed, puts the call through to my mobile or sends me the message on Telegram on the spot. The same base works for a restaurant or a clinic: it checks free slots, suggests times and takes the booking.
What changed
Most of the work wasn't the voice, it was the pace. Out of the box it took up to seven seconds to reply and rambled; by tuning the model's reasoning, the conversation rules and a few filler phrases for pauses, it now answers in just over a second. And it keeps nothing: no recordings, no database of its own.
Two real calls to the assistant, in its clinic demo mode. In the first it books the appointment; in the second I ask for a time when the business is closed, it suggests another day and completes the booking. When the call ends, the business gets the alert on Telegram.
