From a phone take to a finished reel
My own pipeline for editing reels from a phone take: it picks the good take, cleans the audio, calibrates colour and draws captions and panels.
The problem
Filming yourself is easy; making it look good isn't. The raw take has repeated lines, false starts, eyes drifting to the screen before the sentence ends, and room noise. Editing it by hand takes hours per minute.
What got built
My own editing pipeline: it syncs the separately recorded voice with the video, transcribes every take to keep the good one, cuts where the eyes are still on camera, cleans and levels the audio, and draws captions and explanatory panels on top, timed to each word.
What changed
Eleven reels edited with the same method, two of them with real calls to my own assistant. They open with a hook question and close by asking you to save it or send it to someone who runs a business. Colour is calibrated video by video, measuring skin and wall, and delivered tagged in the web video standard so it looks the same on Instagram, TikTok and in the browser.
